Early this morning, my 6-year-old came running downstairs, fully dressed (woot!), and announced that he wanted to leave a message for his little brother on the white board so our little one could look at it while big brother attended camp for the day.
My big guy ran to the living room, and from two rooms away I could hear his excitement as I got dressed. When I finished getting ready, he came running into my room, grabbed my hand, and tugged me toward his work, his face glowing with pride.
He jumped up and down, his excitement energizing his little brother who giggled and stomped his feet. My eldest then proudly read, "Dear C I love you so much Love H."
Parenting win! I stayed in that moment as long as possible (about a minute) and let that evidence of their sibling love fill my emotional cup before my mind started going over my never-ending to-do list. I have my bad parenting moments (and days), but validation moments like this, that I must be doing something right, are the memories that nourish my momma soul.
